Mormon French Toast

Ingredients
  • 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 egg whites, beaten
  • 8 slices bread

Directions
Beat egg yolks until foamy. Add sugar and salt; stir well. Blend in flour alternately with milk to make batter consistency of pancakes. Fold in beaten egg whites.

Dip bread in batter and deep fry in oil at 375 degrees in electric skillet, 2 slices at a time. Turn and then remove when golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Place on heated platter and keep warm.

Yield: 5 servings.
