On Special Occasions

The Mom: That was a beautiful song to celebrate our anniversary! Did you make it up all by yourself?
The 6 y.o.: Nah. It was the birthday song on Barbie’s 12 Dancing Princesses. I just switched out the word ‘birthday’ and plugged in ‘anniversary’.
The Mom: Well it was very clever of you to think of doing that. And you sang it beautifully.
The 6 y.o.: I like the words to the song. And really any time you have a celebration, you can sing it. For a birthday. OBVIOUSLY. Or an anniversary. Or a special occasion like…uh…like…when you eat a peanut for the first time!
