My youngest daughter LOVES glo-stick bracelets {almost as much as bubble gum}. So when I found a tube of 15 in the Target $1 bin, I cleaned them out. She loves to go into her closet or her bathroom to see the light bracelets do their thing since those are the only rooms in the house that have no windows (so they can be dark during daytime).
That night when it came to tubby time, there were a few bracelets left on the ground from her earlier playtime. As we were playing club-mix children’s primary songs, she was dancing and I let her put the bracelets on to spin (along with the wheels in my mind). I wondered if it was safe to throw the glo-sticks into the bath for her to enjoy a colorful tubby time. I checked the package and online – as long as the plastic isn’t torn or punctured in any way, they are safe to immerse in water. So I fired up the bath water again, squirted about a fourth of the Disney Princess Bubble Bath she got for Christmas, which made an insane amount of bubbles.
Then we tossed in the glo stick bracelets and watched the water light up.
My daughter squealed with glee as she flung off her clothes and partied solo for awhile in “Club Tubby”. Of course it was only a matter of time before the music and giggles attracted her sisters like moths to a glo-stick flame. The multi-colored lights under the bubbles looked very cool in the dark room. Sadly I could only use my handheld Coolpix (turned the flash off) so you can see what it looked like.
Will be going back to Target this week to pick up more glo-sticks. Great way to add some fun to tubby time!
