On Decorating Gingerbread Houses

The Mom: Lil C can decorate on one side of the Gingerbread House and M can do the other side. Try to agree a pattern for the candy so it looks the same on both sides.

The 9 y.o.: Ummm… Let’s agree that the people inside are divorced but they can’t afford to sell the gingerbread house in this economy. And they aren’t talking to each other. So she can decorate her side in her, ahem, style, and I can do mine in my own way.
