On Hieroglyphs

The 12 y.o. (doing a video quiz): Ok, who cracked the code of the hieroglyphs? I have no idea.
The Mom: What are the choices?
The 12 y.o.: Howard Carter. Rosetta. George Herbert. And, uh, some French guy.
The Mom: Well, what famous stone helped to decipher the hieroglyphs?
The 12 y.o.: The Rosetta Stone. Ooo – it’s Rosetta.
The Mom: Just a minute there sunshine. That’s what the stone is called. Who used the stone to crack the code? I’ll give you a hint. It is NOT Rosetta.
The 12 y.o.: Oh. Ummm… {silence}
The Mom: Who discovered King Tut’s tomb?
The 12 y.o.: Some English guys. Dad’s ALWAYS goin’ on about them. OH! Howard Carter and George Herbert.
The Mom: So, by elimination, who then cracked the code of the hieroglyphs?
The 12 y.o.: The French guy !
