On Bushels and Pecks

The 12 y.o.: Some of this measurement stuff is so ancient. Not metrics, obviously. But I mean what the heck is a bushel?
The Mom: It’s 4 pecks. Remember when we canned peaches? That was a bushel.
The 12 y.o.: Ok. Great. So what’s a peck?
The Mom: A quick kiss on the check.
