The Mom: Personally I prefer email or Facebook to talking on the phone. Unstructured conversations irk me. When I was your age, my mother was on the phone ALL THE TIME and if I asked for something like dinner, I’d get shushed and waved away.
The 9 y.o.: I’d rather use email too. Because I don’t know people’s addresses to call.
The Mom: You mean numbers. Phone numbers. Email addresses.
The 9 y.o.: Yeah. And then what if I accidentally call the wrong person? I mean how do I know if I’m calling a kidnapper or murderer or something?
