On Coins

The 5 y.o.: How do I know which coin is named what?
The Mom: Well, here’s how you remember which one a penny is – it’s a different color than the other coins. A penny is the one that’s copper. See?
The 12 y.o.: Actually they’re made out of zinc now. Not copper. Zinc pennies are my generation. Like the Internet. And iPhones. Copper pennies are yours. Along with records. And cameras with film.
