The 11 y.o: Republicans. That’s why she always starts sneezing whenever she visits us.

On Planning a Vacation

The 11 y.o: “Don’t expect me to spend 2 hours seeing Okie Dokie the Clown”

The Mom: “Visiting NYC isn’t all about you, dear. It’s not exactly fair for the 4 y.o. to spend 2 hours being dragged around H&M.”

The 8 y.o.: “Yeah. I don’t want to do that either. Don’t worry mom, I’ll bring a watch”

Breakfast: Eggs, Bacon, Whole Wheat Toast, Milk

Lunch: Chicken Nuggets, Mixed Veggies

Dinner: Cheeseburgers, Sliced Tomatoes, Corn on the Cob

 

Monday July 19th

Breakfast: Cereal, Milk

Lunch: Spaghetti w Red Sauce

Snack: Applesauce or sliced apples

Dinner: Taco Bar

 

Tuesday July 20th 

Breakfast: Oatmeal

Lunch: English Muffin Pizzas with Carrot sticks

Snack: Oatmeal Raisin Cookies w Milk

Dinner: Redneck Ham, Boiled new potatoes, carrots

 

Wednesday July 21st

Breakfast: Banana Bread

Lunch:, Ham & Cheese wraps, apple slices

Snack: Fake S’mores (Fluff & Nutella on Graham Crackers)

Dinner: PW Brisket, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Peas & Carrots

 

Thursday July 22nd

Breakfast: Apple Crunch Bread w/ P’nut butter

Lunch: Mac & Cheese, Sliced Tomatoes

Snack: Berries and Yogurt w Granola

Dinner: Chicken a la King over Rice

 

Friday July 23rd

Breakfast: Pancakes with berry compote, Turkey Sausage

Lunch: Leftovers

Snack: Pretzel Sticks

Dinner: Grilled Salmon Patties, Green beans tossed in butter & salt

 

Saturday July 24th

Breakfast: Bagel Buffet

Lunch: Corn dogs & watermelon triangles

Snack: Tortilla chips and salsa

Dinner: BBQ Chicken Legs, Corn on the BBQ, Strawberry Shortcake

On Saturday Dinner

A sampling of responses from the girls when they sat down to Saturday dinner of Steamed Trout and Jasmine Rice:
The 4 y.o.: “What’s this? Yech. I don’t think so. I’m going to watch Peter Pan.”
The 8 y.o.: “I don’t eat fish. Can I have more rice? Whaddya mean “this is it”? Can I have yours?”
The 11 y.o.: “I’m trapped inside an invisible, soundproof box. What? Did you say something?”

C’mon Holland! Do you have splinters in your wooden shoes or something?

Lunch: Minestrone Soup, Crusty French Bread
Snack: Chocolate Cookies w Milk

Dinner: Chicken Korma, Jasmine Rice,  Mixed Veg

Monday July 13th

Breakfast: Oatmeal w dried cranberries, brown sugar and milk

Lunch: Refried bean and cheese burritos, mixed veggies, applesauce

Snack: Cottage cheese, peaches

Dinner: Pulled BBQ Pork w Buns, Corn

Tuesday July 14th

Breakfast: French Toast w orange slices, milk

Lunch: Ham & Cheese Slices, Crackers, Fruit Salad, Celery Sticks

Snack: Graham Crackers, P’nut Butter, Honey (or Nutella)

Dinner: Cheese Tortilini & Tomato Cream Sauce, Garlic Bread, Tossed Green Salad

Wednesday July 15th

Breakfast: Toasted 1/2 bagel, Cream Cheese, Cantelope

Lunch: Homemade Pizza & Watermelon

Snack: Popcorn

Dinner: Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers, Oven Fries, Sliced Tomatoes

Thursday July 16th *Mom needs 1 Chicken Enchilada for RS Sampler Dinner

Breakfast: Apple Dumplings and Milk

Lunch: Spaghetti & Meatballs & Garlic Bread

Snack: Apples & Cheese Cubes (or p’nut butter)

Dinner: Chicken Enchiladas from Food Storage (x2), Chopped Lettuce, Tomatoes, Black Olives

Friday July 17th

Breakfast: Egg in a Hole, Strawberry Smoothie Milkshake

Lunch: Mac & Cheese, Tuna Salad & Crackers, Lemonade

Snack: Apple

Dinner: Grilled fish, Jasmine Rice, Peas

Saturday July 18th

Breakfast: Grandma’s Peach French Toast

Lunch: Chicken Nuggets, Sweet Potato Fries, Applesauce

Snack: Berries and Yogurt w Granola

Dinner: BBQ Cheeseburgers, Corn, Tomatoes
